The Fegho Umunubo Foundation has opened applications for the second edition of its Grassroots Creative Business Support Initiative (GCBSI 2.0).

The foundation is offering grants of between ₦1 million and ₦1.5 million to eligible creative entrepreneurs and businesses across Nigeria.

The initiative is designed to strengthen grassroots creative enterprises by combining financial assistance with business development training and practical support to help entrepreneurs improve operations, attract customers and build sustainable businesses.

Applications opened on October 1, 2026, and will close on November 1, 2026.

What the Initiative Offers

Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from ₦1 million to ₦1.5 million, depending on the programme’s selection process.

Beyond funding, beneficiaries will receive practical business training covering marketing, bookkeeping, pricing and financial literacy. The initiative also aims to help entrepreneurs strengthen their business systems, improve customer reach and establish a solid foundation for long-term growth.

The programme recognises that access to capital alone may not be enough to sustain a business. Creative entrepreneurs also need the knowledge, financial management skills and operational structures required to turn their ideas into viable enterprises.

The second edition builds on the foundation’s inaugural funding cycle, which supported 22 businesses with grants ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦1 million in February 2026.

Eligible Business Sectors

The Grassroots Creative Business Support Initiative is open to creative entrepreneurs operating across several segments of Nigeria’s creative economy.

Eligible sectors include:

  • Media, film and entertainment: Businesses operating in media production, filmmaking and entertainment.
  • Fashion and textiles: Clothing, fashion accessories and textile businesses.
  • Arts and crafts: Handmade products, creative arts and craft enterprises.
  • Furniture and interior design: Furniture production and other interior-focused creative businesses.
  • Beauty and personal styling: Beauty services and styling enterprises.
  • Photography and visual branding: Photography, videography, printing and branding services.
  • Food and confectionery: Food businesses, baking and creative confectionery.
  • Home fragrance: Businesses producing home fragrance products.

The programme is intended to help businesses in these sectors improve their capacity, strengthen their market presence and become more financially sustainable.
