Alimosho CDC holds first General meeting in 2024

The Community Development Committee CDC in Alimosho Local Government has held her first general meeting in 2024 to give directions to members on how activities will run in the year.

The meeting, which was held at the local government Secretariat in Akowonjo on Friday, 26th January 2024 was used to state some of the works in progress as well as introduce other new activities the community leaders should watch out for in the new year.

Some of the activities mentioned include:

1. A new strategy for combating security challenges;

2. Printing of means of identification for all Executives and members of the Community i.e the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer of all Community Development Association CDA in the local government;

3. A redefined means of monitoring the activities of the CDAs; among others

The CDC Chairman affirmed the readiness of the CDC Executives to work for the progress of the community and requested the support of all members.

In addition, he stated categorically that for any CDA to embark on projects, money is required. As a result, CDA members must be made to realize that contributing to its purse is the only way to go. According to him a CDA where contributions, no matter how small or big, are not made is as good as dead.

Representing the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Mr. Goke Sosanya, the Supervisor for Agric, Youth and social development said the Council Chairman is very happy with the progress recorded by the CDC since it’s inauguration last year.

He added that the Council Chairman has organised health check centres in each of the 7 wards in the local government which will commence operations soon. Also, a plan to improve the activities of the tradomedical practitioners, herbal stores owner (elewe Omo), local midwives (Agbebi) and so on has commenced.
