He emphasized that education should come first before sport and the kids should focus more on education and take sport as a hobby or second profession.

“I think the Interhouse sport will add value to their education, it improves their physical fitness which has to do with their readiness for their academic performance.

“The Interhouse sport encourages their overall development, the totality of their development both mentally and physical. So the academics can not do everything alone, both the academic and physical development are so vital to their overall performance. That’s why it’s important to have sporting activities as part of the academic activities of the school.

“It’s part of our process in the school to advise the kids to see sport as an hobby not a profession. They should have their profession which is academic profession. They should have their field of study, then they should take sport as a hobby, it should be their second profession. They shouldn’t see sport as a first profession no matter how interesting the chosen activities is.

“So they should see it as a hobby in order to complement their total future development.”
