Akinpelu Rallies APC Members Behind Orelope as Consensus Candidate in Alimosho
Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, has called on party members to align with the position of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by supporting Hon. Luqman Orelope as the consensus candidate for Alimosho Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Akinpelu, who was represented at the local government party meeting by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Francis Adebisi, said Orelope deserves another term in office based on his performance and effective representation of the constituency.
He urged members to remain united behind the party’s decision, stressing the importance of discipline and loyalty within the progressive fold.
“The party has spoken and we must abide by its decision. We are progressives and should conduct ourselves as such,” he said.
Akinpelu also assured residents and party members of preparations ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, noting that support had already been extended to mosques, Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development Committees (CDCs), and other groups across the local government area.
“Sallah is around the corner, and I can assure you that the majority of mosques within the local government area, including the CDC and other groups, have been supported in advance for the celebrations. Party members will also be catered for during the festive period,” he added.
On infrastructure and security, the council chairman highlighted the installation of solar-powered streetlights across several communities in Alimosho, describing it as part of efforts to improve security and eliminate dark spots.
He assured residents that more solar streetlights would be installed in areas yet to benefit from the project.
Akinpelu also announced that another party meeting would be held in the coming weeks to further sensitise members ahead of the upcoming election season.
