AFCON 2027 Race: Moses Usor Savor Eagles Debut Goal

Nigeria winger, Moses Usor has thrown himself into wild excitement after scoring a debut goal for the national team against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

Coming as a second half substitute in the game, the tricky winger got off to a flying start in the Super Eagles colors as he came on in the 61st and four minutes later, he registered his first goal for the country in the 2-1 win against the Barea in the 2027 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Usor was ecstatic about finding his feet in the Nigeria national team while he acknowledged the impacts of the technical crew and teammates in the game.

The LASK forward further appreciated the fans for standing by the team despite the initial struggles in the match.

“What a moment! Grateful for my scoring debut and for the trust and support from the coaching staff, my teammates, and the fans. This one means a lot,” Usor wrote on his official Instagram handle.

Goals from George Ilenikhena and Usor cancelled out the early strike from Madagascar Ehsan Kari to give Nigeria a bright start in the AFCON qualifiers.

The Super Eagles will then take on Guinea Bissau in their second game on Tuesday, September 29 in Morocco.
