Aerospace Engineering Student, Oluolamide, Emerges LASU Overall Best Graduating Student
Lagos State University (LASU) has recognised Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, a graduate of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, as the Overall Best Graduating Student for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Adebanjo achieved an outstanding 4.97 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) on a 5.00 scale, earning First Class Honours and placing him at the top of the graduating class.
His achievement is particularly notable because Aerospace Engineering is a highly technical discipline involving areas such as aerodynamics, aircraft and spacecraft systems, propulsion, structures and flight technology.
Beyond his academic performance, Adebanjo has also been actively involved in space-related activities at LASU. Available records identify him as the Learning and Development Coordinator of Space Clubs LASU, where he contributed to initiatives focused on space education, research and innovation.
He has also participated in research and innovation activities. In November 2025, Adebanjo was listed as one of the contributors to a project titled “Assessing the Potential of a Digital Rewards-Driven Model to Encourage Sustainable and Climate-Conscious Actions on Campus,” submitted for DeSci Lagos 2025. The project brought together students from LASU and Obafemi Awolowo University.
His interest in space science is further reflected in educational material he authored on space science, covering the history, branches, importance and career opportunities in the field. The work identifies him as an Aerospace Engineering student at LASU and Learning and Development Coordinator of Space Club LASU.
The feat adds another remarkable name to LASU’s growing list of academically outstanding graduates. In the university’s 2024 convocation, Benjamin Damilare Olowu of Mechanical Engineering also emerged as overall best graduating student with a 4.97 CGPA.
Adebanjo’s emergence therefore represents not only individual academic excellence but also the growing profile of Aerospace Engineering and space technology education at LASU.
The university’s recognition of the young scholar is expected to form part of the highlights of its 2025/2026 convocation activities, as the institution celebrates graduates who distinguished themselves through academic excellence.
Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide’s 4.97 CGPA stands as a remarkable academic achievement—just 0.03 points short of a perfect 5.00.
