Adéọlá Banjọ Leads Empowerment Drive at Ikorodu Commodities Expo 2024

The maiden edition of the Ikorodu Commodities Expo came to a successful close Yesterday, Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, after four days of showcasing local businesses and fostering economic growth within the Ikorodu division. Organized by the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the expo provided a unique platform for business owners to promote their products and services to new clients, generating revenue and building networks in the process.

 

A notable contributor to the success of the event was the generous sponsorship provided by Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA). Under Builder Adéọlá Adébisi Banjọ, the council sponsored several business owners who had previously benefited from the council’s business training and start-up support initiatives. This sponsored exhibitors from Ikorodu North LCDA were provided with exhibition stands free of charge, demonstrating the council’s commitment to empowering local businesses within its jurisdiction.

Builder Adéọlá , the Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, reaffirmed the council’s support for the expo by personally attending the closing day along with his colleagues from Ijede LCDA and Imota LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Hon. Wasiu Agoro,the Council’s Supervisor for information.

 

During their visit, the council leadership demonstrated their commitment to local businesses by patronizing and purchasing various items from both exhibitors sponsored by Ikorodu North LCDA and others. This gesture not only supported the exhibitors financially but also served as a show of solidarity with the entrepreneurial spirit driving the local economy.

The Chairmen were received by some of the senior representatives of the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Michael Adekoya – Acting Director-General, Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Chief Oloruntele Oduloye, JP – 1st Deputy President, Ikorodu Chambers of Commerce & Industry, and other senior members of the chambers.

 

The Chairmen expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the council management for the opportunity to showcase their businesses and establish new connections with potential customers. Their testimonies underscored the significant impact of the council’s support in fostering growth and prosperity within the local business community.

 

As the event comes to a close, stakeholders look forward to building on this success and exploring new avenues for economic development in the region.
