Adekoya, Kasumu win Accolades Awards

The President, Estate Youth Organisation, Jakande Estate Ejigbo, Mr. Oluwasheunfunmi Adekoya, has emerged Youth Mobilizer of the Year 2019 of the annual Accolades Awards while the Producer of Community Update, a popular TV programme featuring communities across Lagos state on Lagos Television (LTV), Mr. Idris Kasumu won the Media Personality of the Year.

Reacting to the award, Adekoya promised to do more to make more impact in the community through the organisation.

The president was voted as the best Youth Mobilizer of the year to cling the award organised by the Estate Youth Online.

His words: “I feel humbly honored to have been awarded this prestigious award. I want to appreciate my family and friends who stood by me throughout the year. I also want to specially thank the organizers of the Accolades Awards and Jakande Estate Online.

“As a youth mobilizer of the year, a lot is expected of me in the current year to do more in ensuring youths are mobilised for a good course, initiate youth-oriented events and also collaborate with important stakeholders to make sure youths’  interests are well protected at all levels.”

Also reacting to his victory, Kasumu simply said: “This award shows that some people are watching and appreciating the roles of community journalism in the society. It is also an indication that community journalism would soon be reckoned with in the country.”
