The Chairmen, Community Development Committee (CDC), Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Alhaji Fatal Abisiga has urged the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to provide grants to the Community Development Associations (CDAs) for grassroots development.

Abisiga, who expressed optimism, said the communities hope to get the support from the new governor in order to sustain the legacy of his predecessor who gave out grant to various CDAs for the execution of communal projects in commemoration of 2017 Community Day.

He said the CDAs and CDCs are expecting such gesture during the 2019 Community Day coming up in October.

“We have every belief that governor Sanwo-Olu will assist CDAs and CDCs with grants as it was done by his predecessor. We’re confident that he’ll see development through to CDC and stand with us much as we did during his election.

“We are convinced he will do more than his predecessor especially by bringing development to the people at the grassroots by giving grants to CDAs for the execution of some developmental projects and we believe that he will do beyond that especially in terms of infrastructural development,” he emphasised.

It would be recalled that five CDAs in Isolo LCDA received the grants in 2017 during the Community Day celebration with each getting more than N1million for the execution of developmental projects in their various communities.

Although the grant was not given last year due to the fierce electioneering activities, Abisiga stressed that he is optimistic that the programme would be upheld this year by the Sanwo-Olu administration.
