– Cost of cattle freight from North has raised price of meat

By Olushola Okewole

The Chairman, Butchers Association, Ejigbo branch, Mr. Lukman Oloyede, has disclosed that the current slight increase in the price of meat in the market is due to the cost of bringing cows from the North.

His words: “Normally, this season is not the season for the meat to be costly, but I think it’s as a result of the trailers that are bringing the cows from Kano to Agege; the transport, feeding of the cows and the expenses of the man power to load and offload the cows all contribute to the hike in the price of meat presently,” he explained.
