The wife, father and associates of late gospel musician Toluwanisings have signed a peace undertaking with the Oyo State Police Command to prevent further escalation of the dispute surrounding his burial.
The development comes two days after the singer’s wife, Damilola Olayemi, reportedly reached an agreement with her father-in-law to bury the musician at their residence in Ibadan.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, the police said Commissioner of Police Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga invited the parties following reports of disagreements between the deceased’s family and associates over his burial arrangements.
The dispute had generated tensions and exchanges on social media, prompting the police intervention.
According to the statement, the parties agreed to refrain from actions capable of causing further tension over the circumstances surrounding Toluwanisings’ death. They also agreed to stop discussing the dispute publicly, including granting interviews or making comments through any communication channels.
Those who signed the undertaking include the singer’s widow, Damilola Olayemi; his father, Muniru Olayemi; his uncle, Lawal Ademola Rafiu; his personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo; and his associate, Oyindamola Esther.
Toluwanisings reportedly slumped and died at his residence on October 14, 2026.
The circumstances surrounding his sudden death and the disagreements over his burial arrangements have continued to attract public attention.
