The Lagos State Government has directed internet service providers to clean up and properly arrange their telecommunications infrastructure ahead of an enforcement exercise scheduled to begin on Monday.
The directive was issued by the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) in a notice dated November 2, 2026.
The agency identified Ilasan and Ikate, Allen Avenue in Ikeja, and the Customs Office area off Toyin Street, Ikeja, as locations where internet service providers are expected to immediately sanitise their network infrastructure.
According to the notice, affected companies must ensure that their cables and other installations are properly arranged, secured and cleared of obstructions or materials that could constitute environmental nuisances.
LASIMRA warned that enforcement operations would commence on Monday and urged the companies to complete the required work before the deadline to avoid possible sanctions.
The agency also called on the affected firms to take the directive seriously and cooperate with its officials during the exercise.
The move is part of efforts to address concerns over poorly arranged telecommunications cables and installations, which can create environmental nuisances and pose safety risks in public spaces.
The notice, signed by LASIMRA General Manager, Oyekanmi Elegushi, said the directive was aimed at promoting a cleaner, safer and better-regulated environment across Lagos State.
