Afrobeats singer Davido has expressed confidence that a joint tour with fellow artiste Wizkid would sell out venues worldwide, saying he would demand $500,000 per show for the proposed tour.

Davido made the remarks during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of recording music and touring with Wizkid.

The singer, however, expressed uncertainty about whether a joint song between them would become a hit, citing the collaboration between D’banj and 2Baba as an example.

“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” he said.

He was more optimistic about the commercial prospects of a joint tour, insisting that their combined fan bases would attract large audiences.

“If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out,” Davido said.

The singer also disclosed that he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in about 10 years, explaining that their failure to collaborate was not due to an inability to work together.

He said they had not been in the same mental space for a collaboration, while acknowledging differing opinions about whether their rivalry had contributed to their individual success or whether working together could further boost their careers.

Davido also spoke about moving beyond past disagreements, saying it takes maturity for someone to acknowledge when their feelings towards another person have changed.

“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he said.
