A fire outbreak at a mechanical workshop in the Isheri-Idimu area of Lagos State has affected 21 exotic vehicles, with emergency responders preventing the inferno from spreading to a nearby filling station.

The incident occurred at about 3:05 a.m. on Friday along Oladunni Street, beside Eternal Filling Station, in Alimosho Local Government Area.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency disclosed that its Dolphin Response Team, stationed at Igando, was activated after receiving a distress call and arrived at the scene within minutes.

Upon arrival, the responders found the mechanical workshop engulfed in flames, with several luxury vehicles parked within the affected premises.

A coordinated operation involving LASEMA, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and the Nigeria Police Force helped contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the adjoining filling station and nearby buildings.

The agency said 21 exotic vehicles were affected, while a section of a neighbouring building sustained minor damage.

It confirmed that no casualties or injuries were recorded and that the fire had been completely extinguished, with damping-down operations also concluded.

LASEMA commended the emergency responders for their swift intervention, which prevented the incident from escalating into a more serious emergency.

The agency urged residents and business operators to observe fire safety precautions, particularly in mechanical workshops and other locations where flammable materials are handled.
