Nigerian rapper BlaqBonez has revealed that Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy is one of the major inspirations behind the energy he is bringing into his music this year.

The Chocolate City rapper made this known in a recent interview while speaking about his latest album, NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, which was released on October 16, 2026.

BlaqBonez also expressed his desire to work with Burna Boy, recalling an encounter with the singer at a nightclub last year, where he asked about the possibility of doing a joint project.

According to the rapper, he approached Burna Boy and asked when they would work together. The singer responded by suggesting that BlaqBonez was not taking the idea seriously enough.

“I would love to do a collab with Burna Boy. When I met Burna Boy in the club last year, I asked him, ‘Haffa, when are we doing our joint project?’ and he replied, ‘Na you no serious na.’ The energy I’m on this year is inspired by Burna Boy,” he said.

The revelation offers a glimpse into the mindset behind BlaqBonez’s current musical direction. Known for his witty lyrics, bold personality and willingness to experiment, the rapper appears keen to bring a new level of energy to his sound.

His latest album, NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, is his fifth studio album and contains 15 tracks. The project follows his 2025 album, No Excuses, and its deluxe edition released in April 2026.

Although a collaboration with Burna Boy has yet to be confirmed, BlaqBonez’s comments make it clear that he would welcome the opportunity to work with the African music star.

For fans of both artistes, such a collaboration would bring together two performers known for their distinctive styles and strong musical identities. Whether the proposed joint effort eventually happens remains to be seen, but BlaqBonez has made his interest known.
