Egypt will welcome eight of Africa’s top women’s football clubs for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, with the country set to host the continental showpiece for the second time.

The North African nation previously hosted the competition’s inaugural edition in 2021 and will now have another opportunity to stage a tournament that brings together the best-performing clubs from across the continent.

The race for the title will feature representatives from several CAF zones, although the complete lineup is yet to be determined.

South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, who have won the competition twice, will represent the COSAFA region. Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies have secured the CECAFA ticket, while Cameroon’s Lekie FF and Mali’s USFAS will represent UNIFFAC and WAFU Zone A, respectively.

Morocco will be represented by FUS Rabat and AS FAR Rabat. FUS Rabat earned their place through the UNAF qualifying competition, while AS FAR Rabat will defend the crown they won in the previous edition.

Attention will now turn to the remaining qualification contests, with two tickets still available to complete the eight-team field.

The winner of the WAFU Zone B qualifiers will claim one of the outstanding places, while Egypt will fill the other through its representative as the host country.

With established continental contenders and other zonal champions expected to feature, the tournament will offer clubs another opportunity to challenge for Africa’s most prestigious women’s club football title.
