Allianz MoveNow Challenge 2026 Offers $10,000 Grants to Young Innovators
Applications are open for the 2026 Allianz MoveNow Social Innovation Challenge, an international initiative by Allianz and Social Shifters supporting young entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to social and environmental challenges.
The competition offers grants of up to US$10,000 to selected youth-led startups, ventures and projects, alongside business mentorship, learning resources and opportunities to connect with a global network of impact-driven entrepreneurs.
The initiative aims to help young founders turn promising ideas into practical solutions that improve lives, strengthen communities and create lasting social impact, particularly in underserved communities.
Applications opened on October 7, 2026, and will close on December 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. UTC.
Grant Funding and Benefits
The Allianz MoveNow Social Innovation Challenge will distribute a total of US$90,000 in grant funding across three award categories.
Selected applicants can receive grants of US$5,000 or US$10,000, with US$30,000 allocated to each category.
Beyond financial support, participants will benefit from:
- Grant funding: Awards of up to US$10,000 to help promising social ventures develop and expand their solutions.
- Business mentorship: Finalist founders will have access to an Allianz business mentor.
- Learning resources: Free educational materials designed to help entrepreneurs strengthen their ventures and prepare competitive submissions.
- Global opportunities: Access to the Social Shifters network, which provides opportunities for further funding, training and paid work.
The programme is intended to help young founders strengthen their business models, increase their impact and develop solutions that can benefit communities over the long term.
Award Categories
The competition welcomes applications in three key areas.
1. Financial Confidence in the Digital Economy
This category supports young innovators helping entrepreneurs, small businesses and underserved communities gain greater financial confidence through digital tools, financial education and relevant skills.
Eligible solutions may address barriers that prevent small businesses from starting, growing or sustaining their operations in an increasingly digital economy.
2. Closing the Health Gap: Equality in Health Ecosystems
This category focuses on innovations that address inequalities in healthcare, particularly gaps affecting women and marginalised groups in health research, medical services and diagnostics.
Solutions may use technology, community-led approaches or innovative service models to improve access to healthcare and promote more inclusive health systems.
3. Community-Led Climate Resilience
This category supports ventures helping vulnerable rural and urban communities prepare for and respond to the effects of climate change.
Relevant solutions may include early-warning systems, climate adaptation tools and initiatives that protect livelihoods by combining local knowledge with technology.
Across all three categories, applicants are encouraged to use artificial intelligence and emerging technologies responsibly, prioritise accessibility and demonstrate how their solutions can create measurable benefits for underserved communities.
Eligibility Requirements
The challenge is open to young social entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world, including Nigeria, provided they meet the programme’s eligibility criteria.
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
- Age: Founders leading the startup or project must be between 18 and 30 years old.
- Youth leadership: Young founders must have clear decision-making authority within the venture.
- Social or environmental impact: The startup or project must address a clearly defined social or environmental challenge.
- Measurable results: Applicants must demonstrate the intended social outcomes and impact of their solutions.
The organisers prioritise solutions developed for and by underserved communities. Applicants are also encouraged to demonstrate inclusive design, digital accessibility and responsible use of technology and personal data.
