Applications are open for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Food Systems Transformation initiative.

This initiative seeks to support innovative solutions capable of improving food systems and creating sustainable opportunities across the agricultural sector.

The funding opportunity is targeted at organisations, businesses and innovators developing practical solutions to challenges affecting food production, processing, distribution and access.

Successful applicants may receive grants of up to $2 million to support the development and expansion of initiatives that can contribute to more inclusive, resilient and sustainable food systems.

The programme is particularly relevant to agripreneurs and organisations working across agriculture and food value chains, including those developing innovative approaches that can improve productivity, strengthen market access, create jobs and increase opportunities for smallholder farmers and other food-system actors.

Beyond financial support, the initiative provides an opportunity for selected applicants to scale solutions with the potential to generate measurable social, economic and environmental impact.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the problem their solution addresses, its potential impact, scalability and sustainability, as well as how the proposed project can contribute to the transformation of food systems.

Interested applicants should carefully review the official eligibility criteria, funding conditions, application requirements and deadline before submitting their proposals.

Application: Eligible agripreneurs, organisations and innovators can apply through the official IFAD platform and should ensure that all required documents and project information are submitted before the stated deadline.
