Miss Yejide Adebola of Lagos Information has emerged winner of the maiden edition of Miss NUJ 2026, taking home a cash prize of ₦75,000 and a digital journalism training offer from the pageant sponsor, AOS Learning Hub.

Adebola was crowned on Thursday during the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, Press Week Media Rendezvous, after defeating four other contestants in the competition.

The first runner-up, Yetunde Apanisile of LTV8, received ₦50,000, while Amaka Florence Emeka of BusinessPlus, who placed third, went home with ₦25,000. The prizes were provided by AOS Learning Hub.

The maiden pageant brought together contestants from different media organisations, who showcased their talents, confidence, personality and presentation skills before the judges.

Speaking on behalf of AOS Learning Hub, the company’s General Manager, Jerry Goldman, said the organisation was delighted to support an initiative that celebrates talent while encouraging professional development.

Goldman said AOS Learning Hub was committed to helping individuals acquire relevant digital, professional and future-ready skills capable of creating new opportunities.

He said the Miss NUJ pageant was “not simply about beauty”, but also about confidence, personality, intelligence, presentation and the courage to step forward and be recognised.

“As the sponsor of the prizes for the winners, AOS is proud to contribute, in our own little way, in celebrating these remarkable young women and encouraging them to continue developing themselves and pursuing excellence,” he said.

Goldman congratulated all the contestants and winners, while commending the Lagos State Council of the NUJ for creating a platform that brought together journalism, talent, culture and social development.

The Chairman of the NUJ Lagos State Council, Adewale Ajayi, also commended the organisers and AOS Learning Hub for supporting the maiden edition of the pageant.

Speaking after her victory, Adebola thanked the NUJ for providing the contestants with an opportunity to showcase their talents. She also appreciated the NUJ executive and her fellow contestants for their participation in the competition.

The new Miss NUJ pledged to use her reign to serve the union whenever called upon.
