AFCON 2027 Race: Chelle Sidesteps Pitch Concerns, Zeroes In On Guinea-Bissau Clash

Nigeria head coach, Eric Chelle has brushed aside questions about the playing surface at Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau and fixed his attention squarely on the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.

The game is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, September 29 Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro, Bissau.

Asked about the condition of the pitch, Chelle refused to be drawn into the cobweb of criticism of the stadium.

He rather shifted his priority on preparing his side for the match at stake.

“I don’t want to say whether the pitch is good or the pitch is bad. We just need to stay focused on our game,” he said.

The Super Eagles struggled to get a 2-1 win against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo while the hope to steady their ship by claiming an away win against the Djurtus in Bissau.
