Residents Commends Council Boss On New Healthcare Center

Residents of Ibeju Lekki have lauded the effort of the chairman of Ibeju Lekki LG for prioritizing healthcare and medical services to the masses of the community.
The Lagos State Government, through Health District III, has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering essential medical services directly to residents, emphasising that primary healthcare centres (PHCs) remain the backbone of a resilient and inclusive health system.
This message was delivered by the Permanent Secretary, Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, during the commissioning of the Adesalu Primary Healthcare Centre in Onosa, Ibeju-Lekki. She described the event as a significant milestone in expanding access to quality care across the District, ensuring safe deliveries for mothers, healthy starts for children, and reliable primary care for every household.
The newly commissioned facility will operate eight hours daily, offering antenatal care, child immunisation, family planning, nutrition counselling, and primary treatments. It maintains structured referral pathways to 24-hour facilities for more critical cases, reinforcing the role of PHCs in making affordable healthcare available closer to communities.
Dr. Adeleke urged healthcare workers at the centre to uphold the highest standards of clinical care, confidentiality, and patient dignity. She also called on community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents to take full ownership of the facility by utilising its services and protecting its infrastructure.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Engr. Sesan Olowa, noted that the State Government handed over the facility a year earlier. The Local Government subsequently equipped it with modern infrastructure to ensure full functionality. He described the centre as a living testament to what is possible when grassroots integrity aligns with collective hope.
The facility is now fully operational and fitted with high-performance equipment, including hospital beds, specialised delivery couches, and advanced clinical examination tables designed for patient safety and comfort.
