15-Year-Old Boy Arrested in Lagos with Guns Hidden in Loaf of Bread.
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 15-year-old boy after he was intercepted with firearms concealed inside a freshly baked loaf of bread in the Mushin area of the state.
The suspect, whose identity is being withheld because he is a minor, was apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation by patrol officers who grew suspicious of his movements.
Upon searching the boy’s belongings, police discovered the loaf of bread had been hollowed out to create a secret compartment housing the weapons and several rounds of live ammunition.
During preliminary interrogation, the teenager claimed that the bread and its contents were handed to him by a friend to deliver to an undisclosed location within the neighborhood.
Confirming the arrest, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer stated that a full-scale investigation has been launched to trace the origin of the weapons and track down the individual named by the suspect.
The incident has sparked fresh concern among Mushin residents and community leaders over the increasing vulnerability of teenagers to illicit arms networks in the metropolis.
Police authorities assured the public that intelligence units are actively working the case, while the 15-year-old remains in custody aiding ongoing investigations.
