For widows, women living with disabilities and others facing difficult economic circumstances in Apapa, a new opportunity for support is coming their way as the Apapa Local Government prepares to hold its women’s empowerment programme.

The initiative, being organised by the council under the leadership of Executive Chairman, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo, is aimed at helping vulnerable women improve their livelihoods and become more economically independent.

The programme is part of the council’s efforts to ensure that women who may be struggling to cope with the rising cost of living and other challenges are not left behind in the development of the community.

It is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Council Secretariat Hall, Apapa Local Government.

Eligible beneficiaries, community stakeholders and other participants are expected to attend the programme and take part in the empowerment initiative.

The council said the programme reflects its commitment to promoting inclusion, dignity and opportunity, particularly for women who need support to improve their economic wellbeing.

The administration also encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity as it continues its efforts to build a stronger and more inclusive Apapa community.
