Poco Lee: ‘My Mind Is Pure’ As UK Sexual Offence Case Remains Active

Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has broken his silence on his recent ordeal in the United Kingdom, saying he remained confident throughout because he knew he was innocent of the allegations against him.
Poco Lee spoke during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the video on his Instagram page on Sunday.
The entertainer said his major concerns during the period were the impact of his situation on his associates and business activities rather than the allegations against him.
“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone,” he said.
Poco Lee said he would have viewed the situation differently if he had committed the alleged offences, but maintained that he knew he had done nothing wrong.
“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure,” he said.
He also acknowledged the support he received from Nigerian singer Burna Boy, Rahman Jago and others during the period.
“Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,” he added.
VeryDarkMan, who also spoke during the conversation, expressed support for Poco Lee and questioned aspects of the reports surrounding his situation in the UK.
The development comes amid reports circulating online about the status of the criminal case against the dancer, with some reports claiming that he had been released from prison, while others suggested that the complainant had withdrawn the case or that the matter had been resolved out of court.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that the case remains active.
Responding to an inquiry by PUNCH Online on Saturday, the CPS Press Office said Odinaka was scheduled to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing.
“This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026,” the CPS said.
A Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing is a pre trial proceeding where issues relating to the defendant’s plea and preparation for trial are considered.
The CPS did not disclose whether Odinaka was currently in custody or had been granted bail.
PUNCH Online had contacted Snaresbrook Crown Court for clarification on his current custody or bail status and was awaiting a response.
Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, comprising attempted rape, 2 counts of rape and 2 counts of assault by penetration.
The case reportedly followed his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.
Snaresbrook Crown Court had earlier confirmed that the case was listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15.
The court has also imposed a reporting restriction to protect the identity of the complainant under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
Poco Lee has denied committing the alleged offences. The charges remain before the court and have not been determined.
The dancer has not been convicted of any offence.
