BREAKING: One Dead, Two Rescued as Two-Storey Building Collapses in Lagos

One person has died while two others were rescued after a two-storey building collapsed on workers carrying out a manual demolition exercise in Aboru, Alimosho, Lagos State.

The building reportedly caved in suddenly while the workers were undertaking the demolition, trapping them beneath the rubble.

Emergency responders mobilised to the scene following distress calls from residents. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said its search-and-rescue team successfully recovered two trapped workers alive.

The rescued victims received first aid at the scene before being taken to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
Sadly, one worker was trapped beneath the debris and was pronounced dead at the scene.

LASEMA said search-and-recovery operations have been concluded, while the site has been secured to prevent further danger from the damaged structure.
