Ethnic Clash In Alimosho Leaves Residents Displaced, Properties Destroyed

Tensions flared in the Ikola community of Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State, after a violent clash between Hausa and Yoruba residents left several people injured and a number of properties damaged.

According to accounts from the area, the confrontation escalated to the point where members of the Hausa community were forced to flee their homes. Witnesses described scenes of disorder as groups confronted one another, resulting in physical injuries on both sides and the destruction of shops, residences and other belongings.

The exact trigger for the violence remains unclear, with conflicting narratives circulating among residents. What is not in dispute is the human cost: families uprooted, livelihoods disrupted, and an already fragile sense of coexistence strained further.

Local security sources confirmed that officers were deployed to the scene to restore order and prevent further escalation. Medical attention was provided to those injured, though the full extent of the casualties has yet to be officially established.
