Etihad Airways Hiring Airport Manager in Lagos

Etihad Airways has opened applications for an Airport Manager position in Lagos, offering an opportunity for experienced aviation and airport operations professionals to take on a senior leadership role with the airline.

The position is based in Lagos, Lagos State, and involves leading, planning and directing the airline’s airport operations while ensuring that service providers and teams meet the required operational, safety, security, financial and customer service standards.

The successful candidate will oversee passenger and aircraft handling operations, ensuring that arrival and departure procedures, company policies, brand standards and regulatory requirements are followed.

The Airport Manager will also participate in the day-to-day airport operation, including shifts, weekends and public holidays when required. The role requires strong oversight of safety and security, including hazard identification, risk assessment, compliance monitoring and reporting.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating special guest requirements, including VIP, meet-and-assist, passengers with reduced mobility and other special-category travellers.

The role also involves managing emergency response and business continuity plans, as well as handling disruptions, diversions and delays. The Airport Manager will be accountable for the station’s on-time performance, including delay management, reporting and follow-up.

Other responsibilities include supporting airport ancillary sales performance, monitoring customer service standards and key performance indicators, and serving as the Local Security Contact Officer.

Etihad Airways says candidates should have a degree-level education, although relevant industry experience may also be considered. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of leadership, project management and business solutions.

The airline is seeking candidates with seven to nine years of relevant experience in leadership or senior management positions, preferably with exposure to international business practices.

Experience working in a high-pressure, multicultural environment and within a shift-based management or supervisory role is required. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to lead teams, deliver results and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across multiple channels.

Previous regional or international experience will be an added advantage.
