Nigerian content creator Peller has warned social media users against using his wife’s name to generate trends, content or unnecessary controversy.

The content creator said his wife, whom he described as his officially married partner, deserved to be treated with respect and urged those seeking to mention her online to avoid crossing boundaries.

Peller issued the warning while reacting to what he described as attempts by some people to create unnecessary drama around his family.

“My wife is my wife, and we are officially married. If you want to use her name for trends or content, do it with respect,” he said.

He warned that he would not ignore deliberate attempts to disrespect his wife or drag his family into online controversies.

“Anybody who deliberately disrespects my wife or tries to create unnecessary drama will be dealt with properly. I don’t play when it comes to my family,” he added.

Peller’s comments come amid the increasing tendency among Nigerian social media personalities and content creators to use personal relationships, marriages and family matters as material for online engagement.

The content creator’s warning suggests that while he may accept public interest in his relationship, he expects discussions involving his wife and family to remain within what he considers acceptable boundaries.
