The lingering crisis within the Okoye family has taken another dramatic turn, with Henry Okoye, elder brother of former P-Square stars Peter and Paul Okoye, accusing their brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, of contributing significantly to the division within the family.

Henry made the allegations during a recent interview with Nollyserve, where he spoke about the history of P-Square, the family’s role in supporting the twins’ early music career and the disagreements that have continued to tear the family apart.

According to him, the popular narrative that Jude single-handedly built P-Square does not reflect what happened during the group’s formative years.

Henry said members of the family provided financial and logistical support to Peter and Paul when they were still trying to establish themselves in the music industry.

He recalled travelling with the twins from one state to another for performances, adding that his vehicle was used for their promotional activities and that he also provided security support for them.

Henry said Jude became involved in the twins’ management after they had already begun making progress in their music career.

He further claimed that their late mother had initially opposed Jude managing the group because of concerns about his character.

According to Henry, the situation eventually changed the relationship between Peter and Paul and other members of the family, with relatives becoming increasingly distant from the twins.

He alleged that Jude played a major role in the development of that division.

Henry also revisited an alleged financial disagreement involving him and the group.

He claimed that he had been promised 20 per cent from P-Square’s performances in recognition of his contributions during the early stages of their career but said he never received the money.

According to him, the issue became a source of tension after Jude questioned why he should receive such a percentage.

Henry further alleged that Jude gradually became a gatekeeper between Peter and Paul and other members of the family, making it increasingly difficult for relatives to resolve disagreements directly with the twins.

He said he had not spoken with Jude for between one and two years.

Henry also recalled spending about two months in hospital, claiming that Peter and Paul regularly checked on him during that period while Jude allegedly never contacted him.

The elder Okoye expressed particular concern about Paul’s relationship with the rest of the family, saying he was surprised by what he described as a change in the singer’s attitude.

He suggested that Jude had exerted considerable influence over Paul, although he did not provide independent evidence to substantiate the claim.

Doubts Over P-Square Reunion

Henry also expressed doubts about the possibility of Peter and Paul reuniting as P-Square again.

He said he would be happy if the twins were able to reconcile but believed the damage caused by years of disagreements had made a reunion difficult.

The P-Square partnership has experienced several major breakdowns over the years.

Peter and Paul first split in 2017 following disagreements involving their music career and management before reconciling in 2021.

The reunion, however, did not last. By 2024, another major disagreement had emerged, with Peter publicly accusing Paul and Jude of actions he claimed contributed to the latest crisis.

The dispute has since extended beyond personal disagreements, with financial and legal issues becoming part of the controversy surrounding the Okoye family.

Jude has faced legal proceedings over allegations concerning the management of funds linked to P-Square, while Peter has publicly made several claims regarding the group’s finances and management. Jude has disputed the allegations.

Henry’s latest comments add another voice to an increasingly public family dispute that has continued to attract widespread attention from fans of the once-celebrated music duo.

Despite the bitterness surrounding the crisis, Henry said he wants peace within the family and hopes the brothers can eventually resolve their differences.

For now, however, the future of both the Okoye family relationship and a possible P-Square reunion remains uncertain.
