Social media commentator Izu Obasi has weighed in on the long-running dispute involving the Okoye brothers, saying anyone capable of allegedly diverting a sibling’s funds could be capable of even more extreme actions.

Obasi made the remark in a video that has since gone viral, reigniting discussions on social media over the family feud involving former P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

In the video, Obasi said, “Anybody who can betray and divert his brother’s funds can kill him if the need arises.”

His comments come amid the lingering dispute within the Okoye family, which has been dominated by allegations of financial misconduct, royalty disagreements and the alleged diversion of company funds.

Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, had previously accused Jude Okoye, the group’s former manager, of excluding him from parts of the group’s earnings and financial decisions.

Jude Okoye has consistently denied any wrongdoing, while legal proceedings relating to some of the allegations are still ongoing.

Reacting further to the controversy, Obasi said betrayal by family members often hurts more than conflicts involving strangers, a statement that quickly generated widespread reactions online.

The comments have divided fans, with some expressing support for Peter Okoye’s claims, while others argued that the family should resolve their differences privately instead of in the public space.

As the controversy continues, many fans have expressed disappointment that one of Africa’s most successful music families remains embroiled in a dispute that has persisted for years despite previous reconciliation efforts.

“Family disputes hit differently when money and trust are involved,” Obasi added.
