Tems Opens Up on Why She Doesn’t Pursue Romance With Nigerian Stars
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Tems, has explained why she is not open to dating fellow Nigerian celebrities, saying she regards them as family rather than potential romantic partners.
Speaking during an interview on the sidelines of the BET Awards over the weekend, the award-winning artiste responded to a question about whether she would make a move on Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Tems said although she knows who Okoye is, they have never met personally.
“I know who Maduka Okoye is, but I don’t know him personally. I wish I did though. But shooting shots at him, we don’t do that over here,” she said.
The singer, known for her hit song Love Me Jeje, explained that she does not view Nigerian male celebrities as romantic interests because of the close-knit nature of the entertainment industry.
“We friend each other and we are family. I see my male colleagues as brothers,” she added.
Her remarks have since sparked conversations among fans on social media about relationships within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
