The 2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six started with superb performances as match day two promises decisive encounters.

The match day two will be a tricky set of matches with all the Six teams in contention in the League title as the race for continental football pounds through their hearts.

Abia Angels vs Rivers Angels

The last meeting between both sides saw Rivers Angels crushed Abia Angels 3-1 in the Federation Cup.

However, the last League meeting between both sides ended in goalless in the 2021/2022 season.

Abia Angels ensured they had a smooth ride on their debut appearance in the Super Six with 1-1 draw against Bayelsa Queens. The Aba Queens have shown spirited performance but they are up against the Jewel of Rivers who will be aiming for the maximum points at stake.

Abia Angels would be trusting on Fatima Oloko, and Mariam Abdulrasheed to get their acts together.

Rivers Angels have shown they are a high scoring side as they edged Robo Queens 3-2 in a classical five goal entertaining thriller.

The Jewel of Rivers will be will be counting on the attacking trio of Abasiofon Uwah, Ramotallahi Kareem, and Grace Saliu to make the difference in the crunchy tie.

Nasarawa Amazons vs Bayelsa Queens

After coming out from a lone goal win against Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons are up against one of their biggest opponents, Bayelsa Queens.

The game stands out as of the fiercest encounter to watch out for as wounded Bayelsa Queens will want to rekindle their title hopes after a disappointing draw against Abia Angels in match day one.

The Lafia Landladies three win and two draws in their last League outing places them on a five game unbeaten run against a formidable opponent.

The Prosperity Girls will be looking forward to test their firepower against a remarkable Lafia Landladies defense.

Robo Queens vs Edo Queens

Two bruised contenders, Robo Queens and Edo Queens game will be an explosive encounter as both teams are coming off defeats in their first game of the NWFL Premiership Super Six.

Ironically, Edo Queens leads the head to head meetings between both sides with four wins from six matches, while the Lagos Landladies won the tie in the 2023/2024 season.

Robo Queens athletic forwards led by Kemi Adegbuyi and Opeyemi Ajakaye offers breath and danger for the Lagos Landladies against the Benin Arsenal.

Edo Queens are also looking out for their first win of the campaign following disappointing loss to Nasarawa Amazons. The Benin Queens are a strong aspirant for the League title.

A loss for either side would dramatically set a negative setback in their title chasing dream.
