Obasa Secures APC Reps Ticket Amid Massive Support in Agege
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the House of Representatives following the party’s primary election held across the 13 political wards in Agege Federal Constituency.
Obasa was returned unopposed after APC members and delegates across the constituency unanimously endorsed his candidacy, reflecting the confidence party faithful have in his leadership, political experience and grassroots influence.
The primary election, which was described as peaceful and well-coordinated, witnessed the participation of party members, stakeholders and supporters across the constituency.
Party leaders and supporters who spoke after the exercise described Obasa’s emergence as a victory for continuity, progressive leadership and effective representation.
They expressed optimism that his legislative experience and years in public service would further strengthen representation for the people of Agege at the national level.
Obasa, who has served as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly for several years, is regarded as one of the most influential political figures in Lagos politics.
His emergence as the APC candidate is expected to further boost the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Supporters across the constituency also described the outcome of the primary as recognition of Obasa’s longstanding contributions to the development of Agege and Lagos State.
