Ibeju-Lekki Youths Set For Transformation Leadership Program As LJLA Rolls Out YOU-LEAD Programme

The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has teamed up with the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) to launch the YOU-LEAD programme. It’s a dynamic initiative dedicated to empowering local youths through targeted training in leadership, emergency response, and employability skills.

YOU-LEAD, which stands for Youth Leadership, Emergency Action and Development, is a high-impact civic activation programme tailored for the rapidly developing Ibeju-Lekki area. This fast-growing Lagos corridor is experiencing booming economic activity, fueled by major infrastructure developments, industrial growth, and rising investment.

Under the guidance of dedicated local leadership, the programme aims to equip young participants with the practical tools and mindset needed to become effective leaders, responsible citizens, and competitive professionals in today’s fast-paced world.

The two-day intensive training is scheduled for March 25–26, 2026. It will feature hands-on sessions covering key areas such as Leadership principles and civic responsibility, Emergency preparedness and response techniques, Community problem-solving strategies, Workplace readiness and essential employability skills and Youth empowerment and mentorship opportunities.

Drawing from successful mentorship-focused models across Lagos State, YOU-LEAD emphasizes structured learning, real-world application, and guidance to prepare participants for future leadership roles. The programme also creates valuable networking platforms, fosters collaboration, and opens doors to personal and professional growth opportunities.

Criteria to be eligible to apply is that a candidate must be residents of Ibeju-Lekki, be aged **20–30 years and be either entrepreneurs or graduates holding at least an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or higher  educational certification.
