The training was aimed at empowering principals/vice principals to be great facilitators that would enrich the students’ education.
The training exercise was led by the Director General Quality Education Assurance, Mrs. Ronke Soyonbo.
She started by saying that there was no right style of leadership in education but the situation at hand demands the style to be approached.
She said that every leader must be visionary – with the drive to achievement, be a pace setter that would lead and others would follow his clarified standard, be a coach who trains younger ones to assume responsibility and to be affiliating – creating emotional bonds with maintenance.
Soyombo also tutored on education management skills which pointed at event preparations, collaboration of effects to help others develop their competences and raising the profile of reading in schools to draw students out of their shells.
The TGPS expressed her joy over the steady progress made by schools under her district and the award that it has brought to her.
She urged principals and vice principals to drive the wheel of making the good schools into outstanding ones.
She said, “We shall continue in the ward round exercise to make sure quality education is delivered to students and we shall shine when 2018 results come out.”
She eulogized Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for increasing allocation to education budget which she said, would make great impact on educational system.
In admonition, she said, “Principals/vice principals go back to your various schools, step down the lessons taught, make teachers have better and credible result from students.”
After the training exercise, Soyombo admonished trainees to have clear vision for their schools, articulate it, and share with stakeholders who will participate in it and also review their libraries, get them sorted out into right standing to raise students’ reading profile.
