Man Faces Trial For Allegely Defrauding Couple N4M

The police have arraigned one Ezekiel Oluwafemi over accusations of defrauding a man, Patrick Ogbade and wife in the sun of N4 million in Badagry, Lagos.

Oluwafemi was arraigned at the Badagry magistrates’ Court where the Prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, submitted that he committed the offence between May 2025 and July 2025 at the Iragon area of the community.

Ekpo alleged that the defendant fraudulently obtained the sum from the couple under the pretense of helping them purchase livestock and cultivate yam and cassava but converted the money to his personal use.

“The defendant converted the money to his personal use without the consent of the couple,” the policeman said.

“He was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police.”

Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to February 19, 2026.
