Nigeria is tipped to come out top of Group C at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco which promises intense competition and resilient challengers.

The three-time champions lead the pack, joined by consistent performers Tunisia, determined Uganda, and ambitious Tanzania. Matches will be hosted in Fes and Rabat, adding to the excitement as teams vie for knockout spots.

Super Eagles, enter as strong favorites, chasing a fourth title after triumphs in 1980, 1994, and 2013. Ranked 38th globally, they dominated qualification, topping their group. Under Franco-Malian coach Éric Sékou Chelle, the squad is stacked with talented goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who provides reliability in goal, backed by defenders like Calvin Bassey and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The midfield is anchored by Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi, while the attack is led by ferocious goal poacher, Victor Osimhen, tricky winger Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and Moses Simon.

Nigeria play all group games in Fes, offering a potential home-like advantage.

Tunisia brings consistency with their 22nd finals appearance and a 2004 title on home soil. Ranked around 40th, they qualified strongly. Coached by Sami Trabelsi, they rely on tactical discipline and players like Ellyes Skhiri, Hannibal Mejbri, and solid defenders Montassar Talbi and Ali Abdi. Their showdown with Nigeria in Fes could decide the group winner.

Uganda, known as the Cranes, mark their return after years away, with a notable runners-up finish in 1978. Coached by experienced Belgian Paul Put, they feature veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango and attackers like Steven Mukwala and Uchechukwu Ikpeazu. Their grit and counter-attacking style could upset favorites, especially in the East African derby against Tanzania.

Tanzania’s Taifa Stars arrive with growing confidence in their fourth finals. Under Argentine coach Miguel Gamondi, they build on a strong domestic base from clubs like Simba and Young Africans, led by experienced forward Mbwana Samatta. As underdogs, they’re hungry for a breakthrough knockout appearance.

Group C Outlook

This group pits pedigree against rising ambition. Nigeria’s depth and firepower make them clear favorites, but Tunisia’s organization, Uganda’s resilience, and Tanzania’s determination guarantee tough battles. With fixtures split between historic venues in Fes and Rabat.

The group is expected to produce tactical duels, surprises, and high drama in the race for progression.
