Abiru receives Lagos East councillors, charges them on grassroots leadership and voter mobilisation

Senator Adetokunbo Abiru on Thursday received councillors from across the Lagos East Senatorial District at the National Assembly complex in Abuja, where he commended their emergence at the July 2025 Local Government Elections and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening development across the district.
Welcoming the delegation, Senator Abiru expressed appreciation for the courtesy visit, describing their victories as both a mandate and a responsibility to deepen good governance at the grassroots. He noted that effective local leadership remains central to achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, stressing that councillors serve as critical links between government and the people.
The Senator urged the councillors to intensify sensitisation on the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise, emphasising the importance of ensuring that every eligible resident participates in the process ahead of future elections.
During the meeting, Senator Abiru also presented a comprehensive report of his developmental interventions across Lagos East, detailing progress in legislative work, empowerment programmes, infrastructure support, and innovation-driven initiatives. He reassured the councillors of his unwavering commitment to service, collaboration, and the district’s collective advancement through his ethos of “Doing Good.”
