NYCN, Ikorodu, Emerges 2025 Lagos Best Youth Council

The Ikorodu West Local Branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has been named the Best Overall Performing Local Branch in Lagos.
The zonal branch won the award earning top recognition at the 2025 edition of the NYCN Lagos Annual Congress for it’s pacesetting achievements in the development of youths alongside organizational excellence recorded in the year.
During the award presentation held in Badagry, Coordinator of the group, Taiwo Anuoluwapo, states that the branch has been engaging the community on innovative programming which has contributed to the development in the area.
Chairman of the council, Sulaimon Olarewaju, who serves as the Grand Patron of the council acknowledged the Lagos State NYCN leadership led by Adigun Olalekan, as well as partners and volunteers whose efforts has contributed significantly to the milestone.
“This award is not just a plaque, it is a symbol of hard work, unity, resilience, and the spirit of progress that defines the youths of Ikorodu West,”the council stated.
“We dedicate this achievement to every young person striving to build a better community. This recognition further strengthens our resolve to do more.”
It reaffirmed its commitment to expanding youth opportunities through targeted advocacy, empowerment programmes, skills acquisition initiatives, community development projects, and strategic partnerships designed to equip young people for future leadership roles.
The branch also pledged to continue setting standards of excellence across the state, ensuring that its programmes remain inclusive, impactful, and aligned with the evolving needs of young residents.
