Nigerian music stars Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage have ended their seven year feud, reconciling publicly in Lagos on Thursday.
Their rift began on social media when Yemi Alade posted a cryptic comment criticising female entertainers for enhancing their buttocks in photos to “deceive their fans.” The post came just hours after Tiwa Savage shared images highlighting her curves. Tiwa responded at the time, warning Yemi Alade, “Don’t start a war you can’t finish.”
The reconciliation occurred at ‘The Price of Being Her’ panel, organized by Entertainment Week Africa. In a video that quickly went viral, Yemi Alade addressed Tiwa Savage, saying, “I honestly want you to know that those moments you get rugged and do what you truly want to do, you are standing up for many females. Just continue being you. You are literally walking in strength.”
Tiwa Savage, visibly moved by the tribute, became emotional and shared a warm hug with Alade. Another video captured her singing and celebrating the moment with the fellow music star after the event, marking the official end of their longstanding dispute.
