In a major step towards improving community safety and quality of life, Aruwe, has successfully illuminated Alasalatu and Moshalashi Streets, bringing a renewed sense of security and vitality to the area.

The lighting project is part of Aruwe’s ongoing Light Up Mushin initiative, which works in tandem with the current road construction efforts throughout the Local Government. This initiative reflects the Chairman’s broader mission to enhance security, boost night-time economic activities, and drive urban renewal across all wards of Mushin.

During a recent inspection of the completed work, Aruwe emphasized that effective street lighting plays a critical role in his administration’s focus on safety and development.

“A well-lit environment not only deters crime but also creates a safer space for people to move around and engage in commerce,” Aruwe said.

“We are committed to lighting up every corner of Mushin, ensuring that our residents and traders can go about their business confidently, no matter the time of day or night.”

Residents and business owners along Alasalatu and Moshalashi Streets expressed their gratitude for the Chairman’s leadership and responsiveness to their needs.

Mrs. Kafayat Adebayo, a local resident, shared her appreciation, “Before the lights were installed, this area was very dark and unsafe at night. Now, with these new lights and the road construction, we can move around with peace of mind. We’re truly grateful to Hon. Aruwe for prioritizing our safety.”

Mr. Sunday Nwokedi, a local shopkeeper, also voiced his approval,

“The lights have revived this neighborhood. Business has picked up because people now feel secure enough to shop even after dark.”

The Light Up Mushin project, which pairs street lighting with ongoing road construction, continues to expand across major roads, inner streets, and communities. This effort is part of Aruwe’s ongoing drive to make Mushin a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant place for all its residents.
