Club Seventies Sets Sights On Multipurpose Centre

In a bold move to empower young people and strengthen social bonds, Club Seventies of Epe has announced plans to build a befitting Club House and Multipurpose Centre on two plots of land recently acquired at the Palace/Ijebu Eid Praying Ground.
According to the club’s leadership, the facility will serve as a hub for skills acquisition, youth development, and social networking among members at home and in the diaspora. The project, they emphasized, is designed not only to create opportunities for young people to acquire practical skills but also to position Epe as a forward-looking division in Lagos State.
Speaking on the vision, Mr. Kadri Shamsideen, the first president of Club Seventies, expressed optimism about the initiative. “I can say that there are tremendous concerns about the future of our youth and society in the plans of our club. Since the birth of the club about 22 years ago, we have constantly engaged in various activities projecting our community into the future,” he said.
Emeritus Ibrahim Sanuth, who served as the club’s third president, added that collaboration was key. “We are engaging other clubs in Epe to make sure that we move the town forward. This proposed centre will serve many purposes. Apart from the Skills Acquisition Centre, it will also function as a Club House and multipurpose hall for events,” he explained.
Mr. Edu Faizul Adebayo, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the club’s first secretary, noted that the centre would also be a knowledge hub. “The purpose of the centre is to provide opportunities for research and study, thanks to its proposed library. It is a very great plan, and we are delighted to bring this to the division,”
Providing further details, the club’s current president, Mr. Yusuf Yunus, said the project is intended to give Epe a modern, world-class facility. “The motive behind this centre is to create an atmosphere for members and the entire community to host events in a befitting space. We also plan to include a gym, ICT centre, library, and other facilities where people can learn, keep fit, and have fun,” he revealed.
In a symbolic step, members of the club held their meeting on the newly acquired land on Saturday, September 27, signaling what they described as the official take-off of the project.
