Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been recognized for his exceptional leadership and commitment to progress, receiving the prestigious Action Governor of the Decade award from Broadcasting Talents Nigeria.
Former All Progressives Congress (APC) state Chairman Henry Ajomale accepted the award on the governor’s behalf and noted that the accolade would serve as a morale boost for Sanwo-Olu.
“This is a grassroots award, and I think it’s very important,” he said. Ajomale, a member of the Governor Advisory Council (GAC), who was also given an award by the Broadcasting Talents Nigeria, added: “My award is an appreciation of what they consider me to be.
We may not see it, but the people see what we are doing, and that is why they presented it to me. I’m grateful to the organisation. I am sure they will do better next year.
Meanwhile, Convener of the award, Ademola Bankole, said: “The award is to honour my late father who died 32 years ago. I told my team that I want to encourage people who are worth encouraging and I mentioned the governor. Because the man is a governor does not mean that he should not be announced.”
According to Ajomale, Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, will withdraw his legal case against fellow lawmakers.
He said: “There will be a difference in the next sitting. Somebody is aggrieved, and he went to court; it’s his right to go to court, and since the President had intervened, everything returned to normal.
He was returned as the Speaker, and the House has been peaceful. The case will be withdrawn soon.”
