Rep. Babajimi Benson, representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Legislative and Administrative building in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The new facility, named “Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun House” in honor of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, was constructed under the administration of Builder Olusesan Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

During his keynote address at the commissioning event, Rep. Benson emphasized the critical role of a functional legislative chamber in fostering development.

He noted that the new building would provide a conducive environment for councillors to effectively discharge their duties of legislation, representation, and oversight.

Benson urged councillors to maximize the use of the facility to address community needs, promote inclusivity, and enhance local economic and social engagement.

Commending Builder Daini’s administration for prioritizing the project, Rep. Benson lauded the establishment of the legislative chamber as a reflection of a commitment to democratic values.

He highlighted his own legislative achievements, including the passage of five bills he sponsored, and expressed confidence that the councillors would contribute significantly to the security and welfare of Igbogbo-Baiyeku.

The newly commissioned building is expected to serve as a hub for debates, passing resolutions, and making decisions that will propel the community forward.
