Wafa Super Eight: Jaiyeola Expects Explosive Football As Finalists Fight For Glory

The 2024 Wafa League Super Eight is expected to produce a new winner as Papa Ladies will trade tackles with CATS Ladies in the final at the Remo Stars stadium, Ikenne.

CATS Ladies defeated Great Stars Amazons 3-1 in penalty shootout to book a place in the final of the Wafa Super Eight while Papa Ladies who finished second in the group standings before qualify to the next stage, edged Future Stars 99 1-0 to reach the final.

Both teams are yet to win the Wafa League since inception.

The Female Football Academy Proprietors (FEFAP) President, Jaiyeola Damilare commmeded all the participating clubs for showing the spirit of sportsmanship while playing attractive football on the pitch of play.

“I want to give kudos to all the participating teams because all the clubs have been working with the spirit of sportsmanship and there was no form of negative attitude to the referee or bring the game to disrepute.

“We are inviting the general public to come and watch the final and we expect elite teams to come and around and see good football.”
