Three Lagos base Football clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, and Nigerian National League, NNL, will look forward to improving their respective league positions as league fixtures resume in midweek.
Following their pulsating 2-2 draw against fellow relegation threatened Bayelsa United, Sporting Lagos will continue their battle to avoid relegation from the NPFL as they host sixth placed Plateau United at the 10,000 capacity Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos on Wednesday, 5pm.
16th positioned Sporting Lagos will look forward to the magical feet of Paschal Durugbor who has been in red-hot form finding the net. Since opening his Sporting Lagos account in the derby against Remo Stars, the post player has continued his excellent form by scoring and assisting in the club’s game against Abia Warriors. His contributions would be crucial for the side in their attempt to get a much needed win against their northern counterparts in the fixture.
After 35 matches played in the league, the Noisy Lagosians have ammased 43 points, so as Bayelsa United, Akwa United and Doma FC who occupy 17th, 15th and 18 positions respectively.
Ikorodu City have failed to win any of their last two games in the league having played out a consecutive 1-1 draw against Beyond Limits FC and a derby against Inter Lagos in the NNL.
However, the side can record their first win in three games in a mouth watering tie at home against Madiba FC. The match is slated for 1:30pm on Wednesday.
Fellow NNL side, Inter Lagos who lost in their most recent game 2-1 against Madiba FC will face Beyond Limits FC at home on Wednesday, 1:30pm.
Ikorodu City and Inter Lagos lie 3rd and 4th in the Southern Zone league table with two and one point respectively.
