The vice chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Dotun Coker has commended the organizers of the Rising Stars Football League for bringing the event to Lagos.
Coker also implored the participating clubs not to take the competition as a do or die affair but rather showcase marketable players.
He advised the clubs to uphold the values of sportsmanship and fair play.
“Let me first and foremost commend the organisers of the Rising Stars Football League and leadership of Badagry Divisional Football Association BDFA led by Dr Martins Osondu for this initiative particularly the sponsor who happened to be the Rising Stars Football League management.
“From what i see in this league, i implore the participants not to take the game as a do or die affairs rather they should parade the players that would be marketable for the organisers at the end of the league.
“We need to let the teams know that they need to admonish the spirit of sportsmanship
“So it’s to keep the boys busy all round the year and to engage them positively.”
96 teams will participate in the Rising Stars Football League in Badagry where it will be streamed down to the final 12 that will take part in the league proper.
