The Federal High Court has restrained in prison one plumber, Micheal Adewale, for an alleged robbery act.
Arraigned before Justice Adenike Coker, the accused is facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit robbery and armed robbery.
The prosecutor, Titi Adeyegbe, told the court that Adewale, on February 23, 2023, alongside others not yet apprehended robbed one Olatunji Mary at gun point and took away her handbag containing a Techno Spark phone and cash amounting to N10,000 at Abattoir area in Agege Lagos.
Adeyegbe also informed that the suspect in possession of a short gun also robbed one Dada Adetokunbo of a Techno phone worth N42,000 at Ojokoro, also one Aminu Abdullahi lost his motorcycle to the accused through robbery at Ijaye in Lagos.
The Prosecutor further revealed that the alleged offences contravened Sections 299 and 297 (2)(a) of the Criminal Law Cap Ch. 17, Vol 3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Further hearing of the case will be on February 19, as adjourned by the judge.
Elsewhere, the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court remanded one Mohammed Isiaka for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl.
The court ordered that the 48-year-old suspect be kept at the Kirikiri prison following an objection for his bail plea and fixed March 1 for continuation of the trial pending advice from the Director, Public Prosecutions, DPP.
The prosecutor, Inspector Donjour Perezi, told Magistate Mobolaji Tanimola who presided at the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 25, at Adebimpe Street in Kosofe, Mile 12, Lagos.
Perezi submitted that the defendant defiled the toddler by using his finger to penetrate her privates. He proceeded saying, “according to the child’s mother, on that fateful day, the defendant, after commiting the act, brought the child to her from her friend’s place.
“It was when she was bathing her daughter that she discovered blood stains on her genitals.
“The defendant was queried on what happened to the daughter. He responded by telling her not to escalate the matter and said he would give her the sum of N20,000,” the prosecutor said.
The alleged offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
