The Chairman of Ayobo Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs. Bola Shobowale has empowered 400 indigent residents in the council with free skill acquisitions.
Echonews gather that the 400 trainees graduated and were empowered, having completed,and certified successfully in various vocational fields.
The two weeks of intensive empowerment program (Speed up Lagos)is a Lagos state government initiative in line with her T.H.E M.E.S Agenda,which Ayobo Ipaja,LCDA had keyed in and embraced in view of its tremendous benefits to the community within the LCDA and most importantly to alleviate poverty amongst the youths
The present economic crunch in the country requires venturing into learning skills to augment the sources of income and eradicate poverty.
The Council Chairman counsels the trainees on the value of developing entrepreneurial abilities and exhorts them to strive for greater things in life and to develop whatever innate building talent they may possess.
She also urged graduates to never settle for a life of stagnation, but to actively seek out and utilize the abundance of knowledge available to them by utilizing innovation and cutting-edge technology to set them apart from the competition.
The director of Speed up Lagos Princess Gbemisola Ajetumobi in her remark commended Yeye Shobowale for her foresight as a rear gem, political Colossus and a supportive leader who has the welbeing of the Youth at heart, saying she is impressed at the turnout of the people in the community at this year speed up Lagos.
She then presented an award to the Executive Chairman in honour of her good work.
The occasion was celebrated in a grand style,with the presentation of Award to deserving graduants who have distinguished themselves in various skills of learning
Dignitaries present at the occasion were the Chairman,Vice Chairman,Exco members Legislative,Party chairman, other party faithfuls,Management staff,Nulge,Director speed up ,graduants which include the physically challenged families and wellwishers
