LWC Honours Retirees with Bond Certificate
The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), in adherence to its ethical commitment to secure the financial well-being of its retirees proudly fulfilled this responsibility by presenting retired employees with bond certificates totalling over 31 million Naira.
This is according to a statement by the Head Public Affairs, Lagos Water Corporation Mrs. Kehinde Fashola.

Headquarters in Ijora was designed to commemorate the contributions and unwavering dedication of forrmer employees,
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of bond certificates to the third batch of retirees 22 in number, who retired in the year 2020.
Eng. Mukhtaar Tijani, Managing Director of LWC, graced the occasion and conveyed his
heartfelt gratitude to the retirees for their relentless efforts in fostering the growth and sustainability of the corporation. He emphasized that the bond certificates symbolized not only a rewarding career but also a timeless reminder of their invaluable service to the corporation.
“Our intent today goes beyond honouring these individuals for their unwavering dedication to the corporation; we are here to also celebrate the gift of longevity. Long life, as we all know, is a cherished aspiration, but one that is rarely achieved. Thus, it’s essential to mark the substantial lifetimes that these retirees have been blessed with,” remarked Eng. Mukhtaar Tijani.
He acknowledged the delay in disbursing the bonds and extended his apologies. He recognized the crucial significance of timely retirement benefits, vowing to prioritize prompt entitlement delivery for workers upon reaching retirement age.
Addressing the audience, Engr. Helen Omolanke Taiwo, Executive Director (Operations), extended her gratitude for the retirees’ invaluable contributions to the corporation’s achievements. She asserted that the bond certificates underscored the agency’s commitment to cultivating a culture of recognition and appreciation for both current and former employees. Engr. Taiwo congratulated the retirees on this remarkable milestone and offered prudent financial advice for their future endeavours.
Representing the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Pension Commission, Mr. Babalola Ogunlana, Mrs. Olasheni Eze Okorowafo, conveyed heartfelt delight at the issuance of retirement bonds. She affirmed LWC’s exceptional compliance with pension deductions remittance and encouraged the retirees to abstain from frivolous expenses that may yield no enduring benefits.
Mr. Babalola’s message conveyed his sincere hope that the retirees would enjoy the fruits of their labour in good health.
The event drew representatives from Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs), key management personnel from the corporation, families of the retirees, and current employees.
The Lagos Water Corporation remains resolute in its commitment to responsible
water resource management and will continue to be dedicated to the welfare of its workers.
